Message Not trying to pick a fight - just trying to understand this as I am considering this setup.

As a general rule, as the temperature starts to drop, I tighten all my fuel clamps with the car cold, and at the lower ambient temperature - the concern being cold = hose shrinkage = looser clamp over time.

With aluminum rails, I would think that as the car warms and the aluminum expands, the connections would tighten as opposed to loosen.

In other words, I would have thought that the same installation/maintenance logic would apply to aluminum rails - ie. if you live in a "cold" climate then you need to make sure all the connections are tight when when it is cold and the connections are at the colder ambient temperature ??? Ie. if everything is tight when it is cold, it will only be "tighter" as it warms up?
